Starting with some #TechNews, amputees can ‘feel’ warmth with this new bionic technology!
“The first time I took part in the experiment, I felt like I had rediscovered feeling in my phantom hand,” Mr Fidati, a right-hand amputee who had participated in the study, said.
Stimulating certain portions of their residual arms, sensations were induced in these amputee's phantom hands. This allows them to 'feel' warmth ♨️, cold ❄️, and the texture of different materials. Amputees could feel more natural human warmth and be more empowered in daily activities like cooking 🍳. Read more here!
