Fun Techtivities in September!
The September Holidays are here, and it is the perfect time for some fun with friends and family, while learning about the wonders of technology at the same time! ๐
Starting with some #TechNews, Singapore is rapidly embracing technology in various sectors!
As Singapore faces a rapidly aging population and a manpower crunch in the healthcare industry, hospitals ๐ฅ adopt technology to continue providing quality healthcare services. By using robots ๐ค that can take over some of the tasks of nurses, nurses can spend more time with their patients, giving them the attention they need.
These robots can deliver medicine ๐ to patients, escort them to different areas, or retrieve items as necessary. They're also able to speak ๐ฃ๏ธ in the four official languages of Singapore. Aside from robots, hospitals are also investing in smart wards, where technology helps patients better manage their health and free up valuable time for nurses and doctors ๐งโโ๏ธ. Read more about these innovations here, or smart wards, here!
Now that weโre all set, keep scrolling on to discover techtivities that you and your family can indulge in this month! โจ

To wrap up our #TechtivitiesOfTheMonth, here is a fun #TechFact!
Did you know that in 1997, Deep Blue, a chess-playing computer was the first computer to ever win a match against a world champion in chess, under tournament conditions? (Source)
Now, many chess-playing engines have been created and many are free and open-source. In fact, in 2009, a chess-playing program running on a smartphone won the Copa Mercosur, an International Master-level tournament. (Source)
