Scientists at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) have created a new use for waste paper 🗞️. By heating 🔥 blocks of waste paper in the absence of oxygen, the blocks are reduced to pure carbon! These blocks can be used as carbon anodes, which are important parts in batteries 🔋. These carbon anodes are not only eco-friendly ♻️ but are also cost-efficient 💵.
