Ng Qinglei, 9, presents her Scratch coding project ‘Times Table to 10’ for Coding Lab’s International Coding Showcase 2022.

David Xu, 7, Singapore | Young Computer Scientists Project Showcase | ICS 2022
David Xu, 7, presents his Scratch coding project ‘Dandelion Game for Coding Lab’s International Coding Showcase 2022.
"My game is designed to help children learn about the life cycle of plants in a fun way. I created the game because I love science and want to share my interest with others. Follow the instructions and answer the questions to help the dandelion grow. If you enter the wrong answer, the game encourages you to try again. Have fun playing!" - David Xu

#CodingLabStudents: Wang Jun Min, 13, NUS High School of Math and Science
Meet Jun Min, our avid coder and Secondary One student currently studying in his dream school, NUS High School of Math and Science, which he entered through Direct School Admission (DSA). As one of Coding Lab's earlier students (he started when he was barely 7 years old), we catch up with him since his previous blog feature.
You may also recognise him when he won 2nd Place in our International Coding Showcase 2020 Ages 10-12 (Scratch) category and 3rd Place in our Young Coders' Global Hackathon 2020 in the Junior Category (Ages 7-12). Meet 12-year-old Kyran Tan who won 1st Place (Python for Ages 10-12) at the International Coding Showcase 2020 (JP-SG) and also clinched Distinction (Electives for Ages 13 to 18) at the International Coding Showcase 2021 (JP-SG). Watch 11-year-old Javen Lim as he presents his project Being Socially Responsible. Meaningfully created during the pandemic, this interactive Scratch game features his own colourful drawings and won him Best Game Design (Merit) at the Young Coders' Global Hackathon 2020.

Watch 11-year-old Jun Min's Technology Clicker. Using high-level Scratch programming and Mathematics, he made his very own clicker idle game complete with coins and various upgrades. This fun project won him 2nd Place (Scratch) in the International Coding Showcase 2020.
YCGH Student Feature: Kieran Ho, 12, (Merit) Most Promising Young Coder
Hear from 12-year-old Kieran, who coded a Covid-19 Daily Bulletin. This amazing Python program makes use of real-time news from credible Singaporean and Japanese news sources. This project won him Most Promising Young Coder in the Young Coders' Global Hackathon 2020.
ICS Student Feature: Victoria Hammonds, 10, Merit Award
Watch 10-year-old Victoria talk about her Python Turtle drawing game. Her exciting project allows users to use their creativity to draw different shapes with various pen thickness and colours. This project won her the Merit Award in the International Coding Showcase 2020.
ICS Student Feature: Isaac Khong, 10, (Judges’ Choices) Social Impact Award
Watch 10-year-old Isaac presenting his budgeting project. Combining Math and Python programming, it helps one to plan their expenses and generates graphs to help one budget. This impressive project won him Social Impact Award in the International Coding Showcase 2020.
