Mitchell Foo, 8, presents his Scratch coding project ‘Overfishing is BAD!’ for Coding Lab’s International Coding Showcase 2023.

"SDG14 is about life underwater and I created this game to spread awareness of the negative impact of overfishing and to encourage people to fish sustainably. Players score points by catching fish. However, if they catch all the fishes, the game will end. The fishes are programmed to grow and reproduce when they reach maturity. With every 50 points scored, a fun fact about sustainable fishing will appear. The game can go on forever and the goal is to achieve the highest score possible. " - Mitchell Foo

Mitchell Foo’s project and video presentation earned him a Platinum and Judges' Choice (Social Impact) in the Junior category.
