Han Jo Xi, 13, Singapore | Python Project Showcase | ICS 2022
Han Jo Xi, 13, presents his Python coding project ‘Python Economy Program’ for Coding Lab’s International Coding Showcase 2022.
"I have coded a mini python economy bot. There are tons of features like solving math equations for money, fishing and digging for money and items and using your money to wager against the bot in rock paper scissors! Everything including your inventory and balance is saved afterwards so it will never perish. Instead of white plain text, the interface also contains coloured text to suit the eyes for reading!" - Han Jo Xi

Xavion Mirchandani, 11, Singapore | Advanced Computer Scientists Project Showcase | ICS 2022
Xavion Mirchandani, 11, presents his Python coding project ‘EncryptionX’ for Coding Lab’s International Coding Showcase 2022.
"Encryption X is a simple multifunctional encryption software that doubles as a text software. It encrypts by first reversing the text provided, then putting 3 random characters every two characters, and lastly ASCII shifts to a key that is randomly generated or manually put in depending on whether you are using key-mode or auto-mode. The encryption software supports opening files that use UTF-8 encoding. It supports .txt, .rtf, and file types like this. It can also save into these file types." - Xavion Mirchandani

"My project was based on a game that I like to play with my friends --- ‘Scissors, Paper, Stone’. I was inspired to create this game as I wanted to put a fresh twist to this traditional game played by children from many generations. Many of such games are lost in the midst of online games. David Xu, 7, presents his Scratch coding project ‘Dandelion Game for Coding Lab’s International Coding Showcase 2022.
"My game is designed to help children learn about the life cycle of plants in a fun way. I created the game because I love science and want to share my interest with others. Follow the instructions and answer the questions to help the dandelion grow. If you enter the wrong answer, the game encourages you to try again. Have fun playing!" - David Xu

#CodingLabStudents: Wang Jun Min, 13, NUS High School of Math and Science
Meet Jun Min, our avid coder and Secondary One student currently studying in his dream school, NUS High School of Math and Science, which he entered through Direct School Admission (DSA). As one of Coding Lab's earlier students (he started when he was barely 7 years old), we catch up with him since his previous blog feature.
You may also recognise him when he won 2nd Place in our International Coding Showcase 2020 Ages 10-12 (Scratch) category and 3rd Place in our Young Coders' Global Hackathon 2020 in the Junior Category (Ages 7-12). Meet 12-year-old Kyran Tan who won 1st Place (Python for Ages 10-12) at the International Coding Showcase 2020 (JP-SG) and also clinched Distinction (Electives for Ages 13 to 18) at the International Coding Showcase 2021 (JP-SG). Meet Sarah, our talented young coder. She's gotten an honourable mention at the National Olympiad in Informatics (NOI), volunteered with the community, and clinched a prestigious scholarship to study Computer Engineering in the USA.

Coding Lab Student Feature: Josephine, 14, Raffles Girls' School
Meet our talented student, Josephine, 14. A member of her school's Infocomm club, she started with Coding Lab in 2017, where she was first introduced to Python programming. She has since progressed upward and can now count programming in C++ as another skill under her belt.

Surya Nayar, 14, is no ordinary student. At his young age, he can count Python and C++ programming skills under his belt. This savvy student wrote his own stock rating algorithm after attending a Masterclass on Data Analytics with us.
