3 Awards clinched at the National Microsoft Minecraft Cup Tokyo 2024!
Our talented young coders have done it again! At the Microsoft Minecraft Cup Tokyo 2024—a prestigious Minecraft competition recognised by the Tokyo Governor—our students competed against 130 of the brightest teams. And guess what? They didn’t just participate—they triumphed with three awards! 🏆

From flipping through a Scratch book at age eight to winning the top prize at the Hwa Chong Infocomm Challenge (HCIC) 2024 - only awarded to the top 1.5% of participants, Isaac’s coding journey has been nothing short of remarkable!
Whether he's building games or tinkering with code to understand how things work, Isaac has developed a deep appreciation for coding that extends beyond competition wins. His ability to push himself, experiment, and problem-solve makes him an inspiring young coder to watch.

At just a year into his coding journey, Ong Zi Xun has already proven his mettle by clinching the Bronze award at the prestigious Hwa Chong Infocomm Challenge (HCIC) 2024.
Zi Xun’s story is one of resilience, curiosity, and the pursuit of his passions. Initially introduced to coding during a school holiday camp, he quickly developed a deep interest in it, fueled by his love for games and creativity.
Despite facing challenges, like not getting into his first-choice robotics club, Zi Xun didn’t let setbacks deter him. Top 10 Finalists - Taiwan Presidential Hackathon 2024
Three of our talented students proudly represented Coding Lab and Singapore at the Taiwan Presidential Hackathon 2024 International Track, making history as the first-ever participants from Singapore in this prestigious competition.
Out of 77 global teams, they stood out as the only team comprised of students, competing against corporations, research institutions, and professionals from around the world.

Best 5 and Most Relevant Award - National Thinkers Challenge 2024!
At Coding Lab, we had the privilege of coaching the talented team from Yew Tee Primary School, who won the Best 5 and Most Relevant Award at the 3rd Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan National Thinkers Challenge 2024!
Competing against 66 teams from 40 primary schools, the team’s innovative proposal for “Future Schools” stood out for its creative use of design thinking and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

At Coding Lab, we believe in nurturing curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills in our students, and Tan Yap is a shining example of this philosophy in action!
Tan Yap’s coding journey began when she was just in preschool, sparked by a robotics class that piqued her curiosity. Since then, her passion for coding has grown immensely, from Scratch to Python, and now exploring languages like JavaScript and C++. She has even competed in the prestigious Hwa Chong Infocomm Challenge (HCIC) 2024 and won the Platinum award in her first-ever competition, only awarded to the top 1.5% of participants — an achievement that speaks volumes about her dedication and drive!

From Singapore to MIT: How Coding Lab Students Achieved Global Success
At the end of July 2024, Coding Lab was proud to announce that our brilliant #CodingLabStudents clinched the top prizes in various categories at the prestigious 2024 MIT AI & Education Summit! We had the chance to meet various experts at MIT, such as Professor Hal Abelson, and our co-founder, Yong Ning Foo, as well as our team, gained various insights from them.

We are thrilled to announce that the Coding Lab Pro Builders team has been awarded the Tokyo Bay eSG Award - the ONLY Team from the National Japan Minecraft Cup 2023 to be accorded this honour!

We are proud to announce that our students have once again shown their amazing programming abilities at the annual National Olympiad in Informatics (NOI), and clinched 2 Golds and 3 Bronze. We are also excited to have our student, Derrick, awarded the Top Secondary School Contestant award!

#CodingLabStudents: Jacob Xu, 13, NUS High School, HCIC 2023 Gold Award Winner
Our students are our pride and joy, and it always fills us with immense pleasure to share their growth and achievements to acknowledge them for their hard work.
Meet Jacob, a diligent 13-year-old coder who won the Gold Award in the Hwa Chong Infocomm Challenge (HCIC 2023), achieved a Distinction and Judges’ Choice (Best Presentation) Award at the International Coding Showcase (ICS) 2022, and is currently attending NUS High School, which he got into via DSA!
